In the vicinity there are also sports fields, while the vicinity of Barje also offers nice walks and cycling trips. Bus connections are also good.
During 1979 /1982 four dormitories were constructed with the Ljubljana citizens’ contribution – they are known as A, B, C, D and they gave the area nickname the Alphabet. In addition to these dormitories there is also Dormitory FDV which was first constructed in 1961 and tore down in 2001 due to seismological risk and again constructed in 2006. Upon the merger of Študentskih domovi v Ljubljani and Dom podiplomcev into one comprehensive Institute Študentski dom Ljubljana the building was joined by the building of Dom podiplomcev at Gosarjeva ulica which early stage researchers from Slovenia and abroad reside as well as visiting higher education professors and higher education co-workers at Slovenian faculties and research institutes.
