The regular residents of student residence halls include students-parents enrolled in regular study courses. They constitute two-parent and one-parent families. They usually have one or two small children.
They are accepted in student residence halls under the same conditions as other students, only with more accommodation space available (standard based on the needs of children). They pay the price per housing unit and not per person. A child gets a subsidy, too. Parents may stay in residence halls as long as they fulfil the same conditions as other students. 36 housing units were available in 2011. A well-maintained children’s playground is also available.
Students-parents are self-organised in a family club which organises joint events and self-help and points out the specificities of their position. They also cooperate well with the Student Organisation of the University of Ljubljana.
